8k remastered drone films
I had an idea to remaster 5 of my short drone films from 4K into 8K but not just simply scale it up and call it a day. but to find a way to maintain the quality or maybe even slightly increase it. I found the software called Video Enhance AI by Topaz Lab that promised to enhance videos form even low res files. The test run successful and I can see that I am not only maintained decent quality but also slightly improve it compare to simple scaling. So I decided to run it on 4 other films. It took me about 3 weeks to so do since each film, however, shot it took around 3-5 days to complete (render in Topaz as tiff files, then convert to h.265, upload to YT and Vimeo), Also it took a huge amount of storage for all 5 films. Each tiff file sequences are about 200 GB in size and h.256 is about 4Gb.
Now all 8K versions of short films are available in both Vimeo and YouTube channels and you can judge it for your self.
